Аннотация: Different parameters have been used for obtaining of pure chitin from bodies of naturally died honey bees. Influence of the time of alkali treatment on chitin characteristic has been investigated and optimal condition for effective removing of proteins has been established. Melanin has been removed from the protein-free chitin/melanin complex in the oxidation/reduction reactions carried out under heterogeneous condition in the presence of 1% water solutions of KMnO4 first and H2C2O4 next. Influence of above substances on the yield of the process of melanin removal and on the chitin characteristic has been investigated.
