Специфичность экосистемы Курильского озера заключается в том, что пищевые отношения базируются на диатомовых, но основную продукцию углерода создают пико-, наноплакнктон и простейшие; из-за дефицита фосфора и высокого соотношения общего азота к общему фосфору система основана на рециклинге фосфора с низким вкладом автохонной органики и слабом пелаго-бентическом взаимодействии./A general hydrology-chemical characteristics of Kurilskoye Lake has been made on the results of researches of hydrological regime of the lake, carried out in 1932-1933, 1976 and 1979-2002. Trophic status of the lake has been analyzed from the standpoint of existing contemporary systems of classification. Specifics of the Kuril Lake ecosystem consists in the fact, that trophic web is based on diatoms, but the main carbon production has been created by pico-, nanoplankton and Protozoa. The ecosystem is characterized by poor pelago-benthonic interaction and based on recycling of phosphorous with low contribution of autochthonic organics due to the deficiency of phosphorous and a high ratio TN:TP.

Происходящий процесс олиготрофизации водоёма привёл к изменению видового состава планктонных водорослей и снижению интенсивности их осеннего "цветения"./Results of studying the ecosystem of Dalneye Lake for the period of seven years (2000-2006) have generalized. Thermal and hydrological conditions in the lake have demonstrated as favorable during this period to provide the occurrence and the development of the thermophilous species of zooplankton. The amount of circulating in the ecosystem phosphorous has found consequently decreasing as a result of abundance decrease of sockeye salmon escapement met and spending the phosphate deponents accumulated at the bottom. Current oligotrophication of the lake transforms species composition of plankton algae and makes fall blossoming less intense.

В заключении обсуждены перспективы использования данного результата для исследования динамических моделей экосистем более общего вида./General principles of ecosystem dynamics are investigated for the purpose of modeling the reaction of a species stock to fishery. The simplest model of trophic net - the system of Lotka-Volterra equations is considered. It is presented in a special form that allows reducing the system to the matrix differential equation. Being a matrix generalization of Ricatti equation, this equation is integrated in quadratures. Thus, the exact analytical description is found for dynamics of Lotka-Volterra type ecosystems. Possibilities to apply the obtained result for other models of dynamic ecosystems are discussed.

Аннотация: The Black Sea, as a target region for the 150th issue of Proceedings of VNIRO was not chosen accidentally. And we had several reasons for this choice. It was precisely the Black Sea from where began the history of systematic hydrobiological studies on the territory of the Russian Empire. This count can rightly be held since the moment in 1869, when in Moscow, at the Second Congress on Naturalists and Doctors Nikolai Miklucho-Maclay, called to create marine research biological stations. The Congress encouraged him and took a decision to create the Sevastopol Biological Station that was opened in 1871. Over the past nearly century and half general hydrobiological investigations in the Black Sea region, and fishery studies in particular, have overcome a lot of difficulties, but never stopped, despite all the troubles in the complicated history of our state... Collected papers in this issue of Proceedings of VNIRO are only a part of scientific results which have been achieved in the course of research work in the Black Sea region in recent years.

Аннотация: The review on organic matter (OM) as an indicator of productivity of water basins presents a discussion of modern concepts about influxes, transformation, and an outflow of OM from its cycle. Particular attention is paid to rates of primary production of OM in various ecosystems of the Word ocean and the OM input with the riverine discharge. Techniques of the most representative determination of concentrations of major OM constituents (C org, N org and P org) are described. Distribution of the oceanic OM between solution, particulate matter, and sediments is shown. Role of colloidal OM in the organic matter export from the photic layer down to the bottom sediments is outlined. It is shown that in temperate waters dissolved OM is the main form of exported production. The review describes individual importance of the OM biochemical constituents (mainly proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids) in estimates of productivity for autotrophs and heterotrophs, as well as in assessment of contamination levels in some basins. Routes of the OM consumption and transformation in the marine ecosystem are analyzed. Rates of the OM transformation and oxidation estimated on respective hydrolytic and redox enzymes are cited.

Аннотация: Oceanographic surveys of high spatial resolution were carried out in the western Bering Sea during past few years, which allow estimating primary production in the region based on drawdowns of nutrients. Present work suggests a new method of net (≈ to new) and gross (≈ total) primary production assessment based on summer or autumn nutrients and dissolved oxygen profiles. For 2012, gross (or total) primary production in the region was in range of 50-250 g C m-2 a-1, while net community (or new) primary production reached 30-80 g C m-2 a-1. New to total production ratio was in range of 0.2-0.8. The presented new method revealed good agreement with previous studies and supposed for use in the future ivestigations.

Аннотация: Quantities and biochemical composition of dissolved and particulate organic matter (OM) as well as rates of the OM transformation in the Russian Arctic seas are analyzed. There is a significant variability in the OM concentrations with the maximum concentrations of dissolved and particulate OM in the White and Kara seas, while the minimum ones were observed in the East-Siberian Sea. Rates of the OM oxidation were maximum in various frontal zones formed with water masses of different origin as well as the seasonal ice melting. It is shown that despite low temperatures in the Arctic marine ecosystems, there is an intensive transformation of both autochthonous, and allochthonous OM, because local phsycrophils expend low activation energies on oxidation and hydrolytic splitting of OM. In the Arctic seas, the main biochemical components of the dissolved OM are carbohydrates and lipids, while proteins and carbohydrates dominate in the particulate OM.

A modified oxygen method of light and dark bottles was used for the primary production estimation. Dissolved oxygen concentration was determined by Winkler. The microalgae photosynthetic activity is associated with daily PAR dynamics. All groups of marine algae retained circadian biological rhythms during polar day. The percentage of macrophytes accounted for major portion of the coastal primary production. Phytoplankton community produces about 1/3 of the total primary production. Phytoplankton starts taking the leading position as a primary organic matter producer towards the open sea. The level of primary production declines compared with the coastal area.

Аннотация: Euphausiids (Euphausiacea) are the key species in the trophic structure of ecosystems of the Southern Ocean. The data on the distribution and age structure of Euphausiids larvae were collected during R/V "Polarstern" expedition in January 2011 in the West Antarctic Peninsula region. Three types of distribution were found out among the four Euphausiids species: offshore (T. macrura and E. frigida), inshore (E. crystallorophias) and distribution at the shelf slope (E. superba). The densities of E. superba larvae in 2011 were higher than the results of previous studies in the 70's and 80's. This indicates a high recruitment rates in spite of rapid climatic changes in the Antarctic Peninsula region.

Аннотация: The present environmental situation in the World Ocean is characterized by the diversity and unevenness of human impact on marine ecosystems and living resources. An alarming trait of this global picture is the concurrence of highly bioproductive areas with regions of the heaviest anthropogenic impact. The most of the offshore and coastal human activities is accompanied by pollution of marine environment. The probable decrease of the overall biological productivity in coastal ecosystems due to chronic pollution is about 10%, as compared with the optimum production in a "pure" World Ocean. Potential risk of ecological catastrophes at the regional level is associated mainly with oil spills, eutrophication of coastal waters, and invasion of alien species. Relatively new factors of large-scale anthropogenic impact include appearance of small particles of plastics in the open ocean and "noise pollution" of water masses. Up to now, the generally accepted methodology of quantitative assessment of anthropogenic impact on marine ecosystems and living resources does not exist.
