Аннотация: Прослежено влияние динамики топографических вихрей на распределение планктонных сообществ, а следовательно, и на миграции рыб вблизи вершин подводных гор. Отмечено изменение фоновой структуры вод вблизи горных вершин и, соответственно, их биотопов, что в конечном счёте приводит к изменению общего уровня биологической продуктивности в различные периоды времени в зависимости от преобладания субарктических или субтропических вод вблизи горных вершин. Волновые процессы внутрисуточного, суточного и межсуточного масштабов, обусловленные внутренними приливными волнами и захваченными шельфовыми волнами Кельвина, оказывают влияние на флюктуации океанологических характеристик, в частности, минеральных солей, а вследствие этого и локальных биомасс планктона на соответствующих временных масштабах. В отдельные периоды уровень биопродуктивности районов подводных гор может быть сопоставимым с уровнем продуктивности главных климатических фронтов и не зависеть от них. Это обусловлено выплеском больших масс минеральных веществ в промежуточные и фактический слои океана вблизи подводных гор./A study was made of the effect of dynamics of topographic eddies on distribution of planktonic communities and, consequently, on fish migrations above the summits of the seamounts. Changes in biotopes were noted to result in variations in the total bioproductivity depending on the occurrence of subarctic and subtropical waters near the summits. Waves of diurnal and daily scale which were caused by internal tidal waves and trapped by shelf Kelvin waves were found tom be responsible for fluctuations in oceanological characteristics and in mineral salt content in particular and, consequently, in plankton biomass. Bioproductivity level in the seamount area was comparable to that in major climatic fronts due to the inflow of mineral substances into intermediate and actual ocean layers.

Аннотация: По результатам исследований 2006-2007 гг. дана характеристика популяций и запасов кубанского рака в ракопромысловых водоёмах Ростовской области. Проведён сравнительный анализ репродуктивного потенциала популяций и ракопродуктивности водоёмов. Выявлена тенденция роста численности популяций и запасов раков в современный период. Разработан прогноз состояния популяций и величины промысловых запасов на ближайшие годы. Даны рекомендации по сохранению, пополнению и рациональному использованию запасов кубанского рака в продуктивных водоёмах области./In 2006-2007 we studied crayfish populations and stocks in the waterbodies of the Rostov region. Reproductive potential of populations and waterbodies' productivity were analyzed. Increase in population abundance and crayfish stocks was revealed. Development of populations and the amount of commercial stocks in the nearest future is predicted. Recommendations how to conserve, replenish and use rationally the Kuban crayfish stocks in the waterbodies of the region are made.

Аннотация: The book considers relationships between climate changes and fish productivity of oceanic ecosystems. Long-term time series of various climatic indices, dynamics of phyto- and zooplankton and variation of commercieal fish populations in the most productive oceanic areas are analyzed. Comparison of climate index fluctuations and populations of major commercial species for the last 1500 years indicates on a coherent character of climate fluctuations and fish produciton dynamics. A simple stochastic model is suggested that makes it possible to predict trends of basic climatic indices and populations of some commercial fish species for several decades ahead. The approach based on the cyclic character of both climate and marine biota changes makes it possible to improve harvesting of commercial fish stocks depending on a phase (ascending or descending) of the long-term cycle of the fish population. In addition, this approach is helpful for making decisions on long-term investments in fishing fleet, enterprises, installations, etc. The results obtained also elucidate the old discussion: which factor is more influential on the long-term fluctuations of major commercieal stocks, climate of commercial fisheries?

Аннотация: The review on organic matter (OM) as an indicator of productivity of water basins presents a discussion of modern concepts about influxes, transformation, and an outflow of OM from its cycle. Particular attention is paid to rates of primary production of OM in various ecosystems of the Word ocean and the OM input with the riverine discharge. Techniques of the most representative determination of concentrations of major OM constituents (C org, N org and P org) are described. Distribution of the oceanic OM between solution, particulate matter, and sediments is shown. Role of colloidal OM in the organic matter export from the photic layer down to the bottom sediments is outlined. It is shown that in temperate waters dissolved OM is the main form of exported production. The review describes individual importance of the OM biochemical constituents (mainly proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids) in estimates of productivity for autotrophs and heterotrophs, as well as in assessment of contamination levels in some basins. Routes of the OM consumption and transformation in the marine ecosystem are analyzed. Rates of the OM transformation and oxidation estimated on respective hydrolytic and redox enzymes are cited.

Аннотация: The daily dynamics of the primary producers' photosynthesis of the South-Eastern Barents Sea in the period of polar day was studied. The experimental work conducted in the Kola Bay coastal zone and on the Kola Section (33degrees30' E, 69-74degrees N). A modified oxygen method of light and dark bottles was used for the primary production estimation. Dissolved oxygen concentration was determined by Winkler. The microalgae photosynthetic activity is associated with daily PAR dynamics. All groups of marine algae retained circadian biological rhythms during polar day. The percentage of macrophytes accounted for major portion of the coastal primary production. Phytoplankton community produces about 1/3 of the total primary production. Phytoplankton starts taking the leading position as a primary organic matter producer towards the open sea. The level of primary production declines compared with the coastal area.

Аннотация: The paper presents materials on diet composition and feeding peculiarities of 16 non-target fish species in the Kara Sea in 2007-2011. Diet similarity among studied species as well as among diet of fishes in the Kara Sea and the northern Barents Sea were considered. Three trophic groups were revealed - most species (10 species) were benthivorous, 3 species - planctivorous and 3 species - piscivorous. It was shown that there are potential feeding competitors for commercial fish (polar cod, Greenland halibut). Generally the trophic structure of the Kara Sea fish community is characterized by dominance of benthivorous species (by species number) and low portion of piscivorous species, but the most abundant species belong to planctivorous fish.
